The journey of Ayurveda in our family began in 1870 with the esteemed Ayurvedic Toxicologist Mr. Kuria, from Chembu. His profound knowledge and innovative practices laid the foundation for our family's enduring legacy in Ayurvedic medicine.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Mr. Oueseph Ulahannan Kurias further advanced the family’s Ayurvedic knowledge. He meticulously refined his expertise using a palm-leaf manuscript, establishing a tradition of deep, practical knowledge in Ayurveda. This invaluable experience was subsequently passed on to his son, Mr. Kurian Paul Kurias.
Mr. Kurian Paul Kurias dedicated his life to researching, practicing, and documenting Ayurvedic medicine. His unwavering commitment to treating patients as a form of service, without seeking remuneration, highlighted his devotion to the art. In his later years, Mr. Kurian Paul Kurias entrusted his legacy to his son, Mr. Mathew Paul Kurias.
Mr. Mathew Paul Kurias, who had been under the mentorship of Mr. Kurian for ten years, honored his father’s wish by continuing the practice and sharing his knowledge with other practitioners. Recognizing the value of formal education, Mr. Mathew Paul encouraged his son, Dr. Anish Mathew Kurias, to pursue a degree in Ayurveda.
Dr. Anish Mathew Kurias embraced this challenge, believing that a formal education would provide a scientific foundation to his ancestral practice. He completed his B.A.M.S. with distinction in 2001 from Aswini Ayurvedic College, Davangere, affiliated with Kuvempu University of Karnataka. As the torchbearer of the fifth generation of this illustrious Ayurvedic toxicology family, Dr. Anish now leads Earth Ayurveda Hospital, also known as the Evergreen Ayurvedic Resort of Traditional Healing. Under his leadership, the hospital offers a comprehensive range of Ayurvedic and toxicology treatments. Dr. Anish’s exceptional skills have earned him recognition as one of Kerala’s top Ayurvedic Toxicologists, as noted in a survey by the World Ayurveda Congress.
His active involvement in development societies and social service organizations has further solidified his esteemed position in contemporary Ayurveda. Dr. Anish’s presentation on ‘Practical Ayurvedic Toxicology’ at the National Seminar 2000, conducted at Kottakal Aryavaidya Sala, received widespread acclaim, underscoring his profound expertise and dedication to the field.
The Kurias Legacy is a testament to over a century of commitment to Ayurvedic medicine, combining deep-rooted traditional knowledge with modern advancements for the benefit of our patients.
